Del resto intorno a questo volume ho posto ogni amore affinchè la narrazione si facesse più gradita e il libro di maggiore utilità; ho dispo sto i racconti in ordine cronologico; vi ho premes so l'avvertenza che l'autore aveva mandata in nanzi ad alcuni tra questi gra pubblicati nel 1' Istitutore v'ho aggiunta, quando mi è parso necessario, qualche nota e l'ho firmata, chè non sarebbe stata reverenza se le cose mie le avessi date come di quell' ottimo scrittore.
